He also discussed the challenges associated with November, a time startups compare to the graduate’s month of May.

“Graduation season for New England college students doesn’t roll around until May. But for New England entrepreneurs, it seems to arrive in November. This month, a trio of so-called accelerator programs — designed to help entrepreneurs transform concepts into companies — held their equivalent of diploma ceremonies, typically dubbed “Demo Days.” That’s when graduating entrepreneurs get the chance to deliver a quick pitch for their ideas to an audience of prospective investors.

Redstar Union’s “Mother of Invention – Healthwear” features GeckoCap co-founder Yechiel Engelhard.

Scott Kirsner, the Innovation Economy columnist at the Boston Globe, curated and hosted an event called the “Mothers of Invention – Healthwear” with Redstar Union.This event was tailored towards up and coming wearable health technology products. Yechiel Engelhard, co-founder of GeckoCap, gave a presentation about the company and its vision. The event also included other innovative health companies such as Axio, a headband that improves focus, Neumitra, a “wristwatch” that controls stress and AgaMatrix, a diabetes glucose monitoring system.
